Hello Tuesday! Not a bad first week of college football, amirite? Okay, fine…although there wasn’t much excitement in Week 0 we still got a chance to see last year’s Heisman candidate Caleb Williams sling the pigskin a bit and quarterback transfer Sam Hartman show off in his debut with Notre Dame in an embarrassing win against Navy. THAT SAID! NFL Preseason is finally over with and next week's slate of college football games will be much better. What else happened in the world of sports? Let’s break it all down.

  • USC struggled initially against San Jose State but surged to a 56-28 victory with a strong second half. Quarterback Caleb Williams threw for 278 yards and four touchdowns, while freshman Zachariah Branch impressed everyone with a touchdown catch and a 96-yard kickoff return.

#13 Notre Dame 42, Navy 3

  • No. 13 Notre Dame dominated Navy in their season opener with a 42-3 victory in Dublin. Quarterback Sam Hartman's stellar debut included four touchdown passes and 266 yards, leading Notre Dame's impressive start.

  • Taisun Phommachanh threw for 192 yards and contributed with a rushing touchdown, while Kay'Ron Lynch-Adams secured two touchdowns in the final quarter, leading UMass to a 41-30 victory over New Mexico State in their season opener on Saturday night.

San Diego State 20, Ohio 13

  • In a Saturday afternoon matchup at Snapdragon Stadium, senior quarterback Jalen Mayden completed 17 of 27 passes for 164 yards, connecting twice with tight end Mark Redman for touchdowns, leading San Diego State to a 20-13 victory over the Ohio University Bobcats.

Louisiana Tech 22, Florida International 17

  • Freshman Jacob Fields made the most of his lone opportunity, sprinting for a 30-yard touchdown run with just a minute left on the clock. His performance lifted Louisiana Tech to a 22-17 victory over Florida International.

Vanderbilt 35, Hawaii 28

Vanderbilt secured a 35-28 victory over Hawaii on Saturday night after a lengthy lightning delay. Quarterback AJ Swann played a key role, passing for 258 yards and contributing three touchdowns to help Vanderbilt maintain their lead.

New York Jets 32, New York Giants 24

  • Aaron Rodgers (5 for 8, 47 yards, 1TD) threw three of his five passes for 23 yards on his first drive, and opened the next series for the Jets (2-2) with a handoff to Michael Carter and then overthrew C.J. Uzomah.

  • He concluded his second and final series with a flourish by delivering a 14-yard touchdown pass to Garrett Wilson, propelling his new team to a 32-24 triumph against the Giants during Saturday night's game.

Houston Texans 17, New Orleans Saints 13

  • C.J. Stroud (2 for 4, 104 yards) showed off his accuracy in the preseason with an impressive long throw to Nico Collins. Even though it was knocked away by Saints cornerback Alontae Taylor, Stroud's pinpoint pass highlighted why Houston picked him as the No. 2 draft pick.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 26, Baltimore Ravens 20

Baker Mayfield (6 for 6, 43 yards, 1 TD) appeared at ease in his last warm-up as the new starting quarterback for Tampa Bay. He managed to throw a touchdown pass, all within a short time of less than a quarter, during the Buccaneers' 26-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens in the closing preseason match on Saturday night.
