Are the Mavericks in Trouble? 🤔

HE’S BACK! Tiger Woods is competing in his first competitive golf tournament in 2023 this week at the Genesis Invitational Tournament in California.
Tiger has been very picky about what events he’ll compete in since the near-fatal car crash he was in two years ago, and it makes sense for him to compete at this event as the host of the tournament.
It will be his first event in nearly SEVEN MONTHS!
Tiger’s made it very clear this week that despite having so much time off, he’s here for one reason and one reason only, to win.
He’ll be competing in a loaded tournament, from his friends Justin Thomas and Rory McIlroy, to the new World #1 Scottie Scheffler, and a handful of other talented golfers.
What do you guys think? Can Tiger compete in this field or will he struggle?

This might be an overreaction because Kyrie Irving is so new to Dallas. BUT, in the two games that Kyrie’s played with Luka Doncic, the Mavericks lost and couldn’t find enough defense in either game.
Defense was going to be an issue for the Mavs the minute they traded for Kyrie because he’s not an amazing defender and they traded away one of their best players on defense, Dorian Finney-Smith. They Mavericks also don’t play a lot of big men to man the middle.
The Mavericks took a gamble with the Kyrie trade because Luka does everything on offense and he needed some help. However, he does almost nothing for the Mavericks defensively.
To compete with teams like the Suns and the Nuggets in the West and teams like the Bucks and the Celtics in the East they NEED to find some sort of defense. They should rebound and play better down the stretch of the NBA season, but this is going to be a big problem in the playoffs.
Do you think the Kyrie Irving experiment in Dallas is going to workout?

The Big 12 is College Basketball Chaos 🔥

Two ranked Big 12 teams lost in the last two days. Texas on the road to a Texas Tech team that’s last in the Big 12 and Kansas State on the road to an Oklahoma team that’s second to last in the Big 12.
The Big 12 has easily been the best conference in college basketball this season, to the point where there was a realistic opportunity that ALL 10 teams could get into the NCAA Tournament.
Texas is one of the best teams in the entire country, but laid an egg against Texas Tech. Texas Tech opened the season ranked, but hasn’t been able to put it all together this season. However, they got Texas at the right time and won.
Kansas State has been a surprise this season, and has been a really good team, but they lost to Oklahoma by double digits on the road.
Whoever wins this conference will have gone through WAR!
Who do you think is the best team in the Big 12?

The NBA is about to go into it’s All-Star break for a week and it’s taking place in Salt Lake City, Utah this year.
The headliner event is not the Slam Dunk contest and is instead the Three-Point contest. Just look at that lineup! It’s loaded this year and all 8 players have a legit chance of winning it. The favorite going into the event should be Damian Lilliard, but it’s going to be close.
The dunk contest only has four contestants this year and none of them are household names in the NBA. Still, the favorite should be Mac McClung who’s been producing highlight reels since his days in high school.
The other events spread throughout the weekend in Utah are the Celebrity All-Star Game, the Rising Stars Game, the NBA x HBCU Classic, and the Skills Challenge leading up to the rest of the Saturday night festivities.
The All-Star game is Sunday Night, but this year an hour before, each team will draft their players there on the court. Look for the All-Star game to get competitive again with the Elam Ending and each team vying for charity money!

From Football to Pickleball 🤩
Miami Dolphins Cornerback Trill Williams had so much fun playing pickleball at the Playmaker House in Arizona during the Super Bowl that he wants to join a league.
Shortly after saying “Let’s run ittttt” on his Instagram Story, Trill had not one, but TWO pickleball leagues reach out to him to get something cooking.
He’s certainly not the first pro athlete to get in on the action. See how it’s taking over sports.
