The 23-time Grand Slam winner staved off retirement with an emphatic performance, upsetting second-ranked Anett Kontaviet in a thrilling three-set match in the U.S. Open's second round in New York.After winning a long first set and dropping the second, the GOAT dropped tough shot after tough shot in the third, as the star-studded crowd pushed her forward. Tennis can be a very lonely place; the uber-talented Kontaviet could do nothing to stem the tide of the entire sports world cheering for her opponent.It was a performance - based on the fact that she's only played six matches in 2022, and she loudly hinted at retirement in the lead-up to this tournament - that will stand the test of time. The aging superstar improbably thriving one final time is still the most fun thing to see.

Fall season is finally here! We saw a few solid contests last week, but the NCAA football season kicks off in earnest this weekend, as the race for the national title and the Heisman Trophy begins Thursday night. It's the most exciting time of the year for every fan base. Well, almost everyone...
