😮‍💨 Luka cannot be stopped

How many 50-point games is Luka gonna keep having this season?!

Even on a bad ankle, Luka led the Mavs to a 111-105 win over the Pistons.

He carried the Mavs with 53 points…which means the rest of the team had 58 points. This man literally put up almost half of the team’s points all by himself.

Luka has never been shy of the moment and is also not afraid to clap back at the haters.

The 23-year-old shared some words with the Pistons assistant coach. Apparently, the whole bench was “chirping” in the first quarter according to Luka. The Don chirped back and said he ain't scared!

Let 'em know, Luka!

Oh, and let's not forget that his ankle is still not completely healed, so that means Luka isn’t even at 100%. Imagine that! A fully healthy Luka is even more of a scary sight.

ESPN analyst, Tim Legler, called the young star the most dominant offensive player in the NBA. Would you say that’s valid?

🦅  Purdue got the top spot

Purdue became this season's first unanimous No. 1 team

Associated Press

Purdue became this season's first unanimous No. 1 team in the AP Top 25 men's college basketball poll.

There’s clearly no one seeing Purdue. Tennessee, Houston, Alabama, and Arizona are the four other teams following.

Not only was it a unanimous decision, but Purdue also has held their top spot longer than any team this year. How many more weeks do you think they’ll stay up there?

Many may not have expected it at the start of the season, but the Boilermakers are 21-1 and have won eight straight now.

The team had a 77-61 win Sunday over Michigan State which clinched their No. 1 spot. And have y'all seen Zach Edey?! He's been a monster in leading this Big 10 team and dropped 38 against the Spartans.

The 7’4’’ center is averaging 22.1 points and 13.0 rebounds a game. MSU couldnt cover him. The guy is one of the tallest players in NCAA D1 hoops!

Tough to beat a top player on a top team.

👀 Comeback SZN

Texas Tech pulls off comeback win against Iowa State

Fan Sided

Texas Tech pulled off quite the comeback!

After being down by 23, the team fought their way to the 80-77 overtime victory against No. 13 Iowa State. This was the biggest comeback in school history.

You would have thought this game was going to be a blowout. Iowa State took a 59-36 lead with 12:38 left in the game…but the game is never over til it’s over!

Iowa State’s Caleb Grill came out hot with 24 points, but Red Raider’s forward, Kevin Obanor, responded with 24 points and 13 rebounds of his own.

The Red Raiders had gone on a 20-3 run and really cranked things up a notch on defense. In the final 10 minutes of regulation and OT, Iowa State couldnt even catch a rhythm– they were 3-of-16.

The Red Raiders held their ground and defeated the odds.

🚨 New head coach alert!

Sean Payton hired as Denver Bronco's new head coach

USA Today

Sean Payton is set to become the Denver Bronco’s next head coach.

The Broncos and New Orleans Saints landed on a deal, where Denver sends the Saints a first-round draft pick in 2023 and a second-round selection in 2024. In return, the Broncos will also get a 2024 third-round pick.

I’m not sure a coach is worth a first and second-round pick, especially for a team like Denver that could utilize a lot more player talent.

Last year, Payton stepped down as coach of the Saints after his long run with the team. He was able to turn things around with the franchise, going 152-89 with the Saints and helping them win nine playoff games, plus a Super Bowl.

At the same time, who knows if the success was all him or all Drew Brees.

One thing we do know is that Russell Wilson is not the same as Drew Brees, so we’ll see what Payton can do in Denver now to fix the quarterback and their offense.

🏈 Pro Bowl Updates

Ravens QB Tyler Huntley added to Pro Bowl games

Getty Images

Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley has been named to the Pro Bowl Games...somehow.

Huntley was put on the AFC roster as Josh Allen’s replacement after the Bills QB ended the season with an elbow injury.

Huntley was definitely a surprising choice. Some alternates were listed as unavailable, but there’s no way all possible options were considered.

Lamar Jackson would have played, but he went out with an injury and Tua was also a top alternate, but also unavailable to play.

Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence replaced Patrick Mahomes (who will be, of course, occupied trying to win a chip), so Huntley was left as the fourth and final alternate.

Huntley started in just four regular season games this season. As a starter, he went 2-2 with 658 passing yards and threw two touchdowns. That sets the bar pretty low. It doesn’t quite add up when you look at his stats.

Many fans say the Pro Bowl is a joke for exactly this reason.

Should the NFL just get rid of the Pro Bowl at this point? Or at least reevaluate the process?
