Dusty finally gets his ring 💍

Plus: More historic moments & star performances

Today's rundown:

  • Houston takes home the trophy 🏆

  • Another milestone for Brady 🐐

  • Mahomes does it all 🤯

  • LSU upsets Bama 🚨

  • Fox came in hot 🔥

And that’s a wrap!

Houston Astros are World Series champions for the second time in franchise history.

Kyle Schwarber hit another one of his bombs in Game 6 but it was’t enough against the Astros and Yordan Alvarez’s 3-run homer to seal the deal over the Phillies.

The victory was filled with a couple firsts.

For one, rookie Jeremy Peña won World Series MVP as the first ever rookie position player in the MLB to win the award. Base hit after base hit, he stepped up and played a big role in the team’s success.

Peña’s performance helped Dusty Baker win his first managerial ring after 25 seasons and he’s already eyeing a second one.

The coincidental connection between Dusty and Peña has been brought up since Saturday’s win. It turns out Dusty’s managerial debut was in 1993 against the Cardinals, where the leadoff hitter was Jermey’s dad, Geronimo Peña.

Funny how things all work out.

It seemed to be destiny for Mattress Mack too. He won $75 million dollars and made history in the biggest payout in sports betting ever.

I know he and the rest of Astros fans are feeling pretty good right about now.

Tom Brady does it again.

Brady became the first player in NFL history to reach 100,000 passing yards during Sunday’s matchup against the Rams. It took him 374 games to secure this milestone.

Not only did the goat make history but he was able to pull the Bucs in a come-from-behind win, 16-13 for his 43rd career fourth quarter comeback.

He said it best himself: “That was awesome.”

Fourth quarter Patrick Mahomes is different. He did not mess around Sunday night against the Titans.

The Titans came into the game putting on a solid performance, while the Chiefs weren't in their best shape. But that doesn't really matter when you have Mahomes on your team, right?

He got the game-tying scoring drive and carried the team into an overtime victory 20–17.

Mahomes was 43 of 68 for 446 passing yards, with 2 total touchdowns, and 63 rushing yards.

The man did it all.

What a game!

Eight lead changes? Yeah, you know it was gonna be a good one.

LSU put up a great fight against Alabama. The Tigers didn't even trail in the first half until Bama took the first lead in the third.

Jayden Daniels was key in attacking on offense the entire night with 183 passing yards, two touchdowns, and 95 rushing yards.

In overtime, LSU went for two and won in the final seconds of the game. Mason Taylor caught Daniel’s pass in the corner of the endzone to win the game 32-31.

De’Aaron Fox had quite the game Saturday in Orlando.

Fox led the team into overtime after hitting a bank shot in the final minute to even the score at 106.

Then in OT, with the Kings and Magic tied up and 6.6 left on the clock, Fox pulled up from the logo to call game 126-123.

The King’s point guard finished with 37 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists.
