Congratulations. We’re officially one week closer to football season, which means two things: NFL Red Zone Sundays and fantasy football. However, there's a whirlwind of headlines from training camp that demand our attention. Critical injuries, trade requests, trash talking - it's all happening, and we can't get enough of it.

Also amidst the chaos, BREAKING NEWS from one key player will leave fantasy owners in a predicament on whether they should decide to pick him up in the earlier rounds, and it’s not Joe Burrow. Who might that person be? Let’s break it all down.

NFL INJURY HEADLINES

Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow expected to miss “several weeks” with calf injury.

👉 Quarterbacks Trevor Siemian and Jake Browning will split first-team reps

Miami Dolphins CB Jalen Ramsey suffered a knee injury in practice

👉 The veteran underwent a full meniscus repair Friday, and is expected to be sidelined until December. Ramsey has already began the rehab process and expects to return sooner than expected timetable

👉 The Dolphins have agreed to a contract with free agent cornerback Eli Apple

Buffalo Bills RB Nyheim Hines suffered an expected season-ending injury to his left ACL while away from the team's facility

👉 Hines sustained the knee injury when he was struck by a jet ski and will at some point require surgery

Indianapolis Colts RB Zack Moss sidelined for 4-6 weeks with broken arm

👉 Colts' Zack Moss, filling in for Jonathan Taylor, suffers broken arm in practice, expected to miss 4-6 weeks

👉 Moss, a valuable addition from Buffalo Bills last season, plays a crucial role in the Indianapolis running game alongside dual-threat QB Anthony Richardson

👉 The first-round pick from Florida underwent the procedure to improve breathing; nothing serious

Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor asks for trade after meeting with owner

👉 Colts have no interest in trading Taylor. At least not right now.

👉 Colts considering placing Taylor on the non-football injury list because of a back issue he reported during his pre-training camp physical.

NFL KEY FREE AGENTS/UPDATES

Ezekiel Elliott visited New England Patriots on Saturday

👉 Released by Dallas in March, the former NFL rushing champion presents potential value to the Patriots as a top short-yardage back and pass protector, fitting their focus on the running game during upcoming practices in full pads.

👉 Kareem Hunt and Leonard Fournette are also contenders for a roster spot with the Pats.

Dalvin Cook visited the New York Jets; optimistic about signing

👉 When asked how the visit went to his agent, he responded, “you’ll see.”

👉 Jets RB Breece Hall is the No. 1 back, but he is still not practicing after ACL surgery in October. The plan is to have him ready for the opener.

Fantasy football owners are gearing up for hopefully another successful season. However, sometimes it never goes your way, either because your star players get injured at some point during the NFL season, you forget to set your lineups, you make dumb trades, or you thought your draft was at 7pm instead of 6pm.

With the potential suspension of star RB Alvin Kamara, the burning question remains: “when should I pick up Alvin Kamara in fantasy this year?”

👉 Last week, New Orleans Saints' Alvin Kamara pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor assault charge involving a fight outside of a Las Vegas club during the 2021 Pro Bowl.

👉 Saints fans overwhelmingly predict 4-6 game suspension for the running back in a recent poll

👉 Alvin Kamara's playing time as the possibility of a suspension looms. Kamara and his camp were preparing for a six-game suspension before he pleaded no contest, a move aimed at avoiding a felony charge.

👉 As part of the resolution, Kamara will need to perform community service and pay over $100,000 to the defendant to cover medical bills.

👉 Alvin Kamara plans to meet with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell regarding his potential suspension.
